Father, your church with thankfulness
Receives as from your hand
The different gifts of heart and mind
Which different lives possess.
Ours is the voice, but yours the grace
That brings to these today
The call to mark for us the way
By which to seek your face.
Give them again each day the love
That brought them to this hour:
Your peace their ministry empower,
Your hope their fears resolve.
Lord, may the team of faith each leads
Be wise to do your will;
To speak the word that strengthens still,
And seal its talk with deeds.
In heaven and earth your folk are one,
Since all to you belong.
We’ll sing your church’s thankful song,
And praise your living Son.
Your living Son the pattern gives:
May we his pattern trace,
And find for all the human race
