That mighty resurrected Word
No fashioned timbers can restrain;
The fullness of our living Lord
No stones, no bricks, no glass contain.
Yet to his glory here we raise
A place for prayer and joyful praise—
A place where love will come to dwell,
And strangely warm each heart within;
Where faith and hope our fears dispel,
Where peace and trust in God begin,
Rejoice! Our Lord reveals his name:
Christ Jesus, here your truth proclaim.
For you we work: we dedicate
Our building and our zeal to you;
Lord, bless this church: in us create
A people by your love made new;
May sacraments and preaching raise
Our souls to share your gifts of grace.
Come now, great Lord,
with power and might:
Our minds with lively vision fill;
Upon us shed your holy light:
Help us to know and do your will:
That we who here acclaim you Lord
May then declare your name abroad.
