The one eternal Spirit,
The source of life and light,
Who has revealed His Glory
In all things good and right;
The beauty of creation
In human love and joy,
They make me want to worship;
Let God my life employ.
The protea on the mountain,
The sparkling waterfall,
The rugged rocky outcrop,
The pine so straight and tall;
The open veld with springbok,
Flamingoes by the vlei,
They make me want to worship,
To thank God and to pray.
The teacher in the classroom,
The nurse beside the bed,
The farmer and the sailor
Who bring our daily bread;
The engineer and artist,
And all who serve mankind,
They make me want to worship
With all my heart and mind.
The priest before the altar,
The people deep in prayer,
The children singing praises
For all God’s love and care;
The sick in mind and body,
Whose health has been restored,
They make me want to worship
Our gracious, loving Lord.
The same eternal Spirit,
Who came from God on high—
Will with His Holy Presence
My action sanctify;
That with the world around me
I’ll offer to my King
My love, obedience, worship,
And alleluias sing.
