How gracious is my Lord to me!
He mediates His love
In these blessed symbols, offered free,
Whose source is God above.
The broken bread, the poured wine,
Are tokens of His grace.
They speak of One who is divine,
Who came to save our race.
As I partake of bread and wine,
As these their work pursue,
Indwell the symbols, Host divine,
And make Thy creature new.
The wine portrays the spilled blood;
The bread is food to me.
So may I drink the life of God
And feast eternally.
I rise refreshed, with surer tread,
I place my hand in Thine;
I slake my thirst, I eat Thy bread,
And share the Life divine.
I thank Thee, Lord, for this display
Of grace so rich and free.
Lord, make me grow from day to day
As one who dwells in Thee.
