Behold us, Lord, Thy family,
Assembled here to share
A sacramental rite in which
We show our loving care.
We meet to bring before thee, Lord,
The young whom thou hast giv’n;
To consecrate their lives to Thee,
And write their names in Heav’n.
We gladly undertake to bear,
In service and in prayer,
The burden of their training, Lord—
With parents we will share.
So as with water we baptise,
And take them back from thee,
Oh may we hear Thee inly say:
“O lead then back to Me”.
