Hymn/Song Information

High priest divine from who alone

High Priest divine,
from whom alone
Can come the grace
Thy suppliants need,
Our pledge his day,
our purpose, own,
Thy sheep to tend,
Thy lambs to feed.
Thy blessing on Thy Church bestow,
Thy favour to Thy servant show.

Earnest in thought, direct in speech,
Thy truth in love may we declare;
Lowly to learn and apt to teach,
Of Thy breathed messages aware.
Thy hand unseen now on us lay,
Lest we Thy solemn trust betray.

In any testing time of fear
Deal gently with our spirit, Lord;
Still make Thy counsel to us clear;
And for fresh tasks
new strength afford,
Always may truth and grace control
The inmost region of our soul.

Thy gifts of grace to us impart,
That we may serve
Thy Church below;
One in design and one in heart,
Grant us Thy threefold
peace to know.
So at the last on Thy right hand
May we among Thy servants stand.
