Let all men rejoice,
By Jesus restored!
We lift up our voice,
And call him our Lord;
His joy is to bless us,
And free us from thrall,
From all that oppress us
He rescues us all.
Him Prophet, and King,
And Priest we proclaim,
We triumph and sing
Of Jesus's name;
Poor idiots he teaches
To show forth his praise,
And tell of the riches
Of Jesus's grace.
No matter how dull
The scholar whom he
Takes into his school,
And gives him to see;
A wonderful fashion
Of teaching he hath,
And wise to salvation
He makes us through faith.
The wayfaring men
Though fools, shall not stray,
His method so plain,
So easy his way;
The simplest believer
His promise may prove,
And drink of the river
Of Jesus's love.
Poor outcasts of men,
Whose souls were despised,
And left with disdain,
By Jesus are prized;
His gracious creation
In us he makes known,
And brings us salvation,
And calls us his own.
