When I rejoice
I remember my calling
and all of the things
that for God I have done,
All my endeavors
though each beneficial
could never replace what I've gained from God's Son.
[Chorus 1]
Indeed, I count everything
as loss because
of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (repeat)
Not that I wish
for my past to be worthless,
or that my religion
will now be the best.
All that I want is
to know Christ the servant,
and like him to
treat all the world as my guest. ...(to Chorus 1)
[Chorus 1]
Indeed, I count everything
as loss because
of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (repeat)
When I place Christ
at the center of all things
the One who did empty
himself is my Lord.
God's resurrection pow'r
now is in my life,
but it is not something
to grasp as reward.
...(to Chorus 1)
[Chorus 1]
Indeed, I count everything
as loss because
of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (repeat)
