O our Saviour, crucified!
Near Thy Cross would we abide,
There to look with steadfast eye
On Thy dying agony.
Jesus bruised and put to shame
Tells us all Jehovah’s Name;
God is love, we surely know
By the Saviour’s depths of woe.
In His spotless soul’s distress
We perceive our guiltiness;
O how vile our low estate!
Since our ransom was so great.
Dwelling on Mount Calvary,
Contrite shall our spirits be;
Rest and holiness shall find,
Fashioned like our Saviour’s mind.
