Fountain of blessing ever blessed,
Enriching all, of all possessed;
By thee, oh Lord, Creation’s fed,
Give me each day my daily bread.
To thee my life, my friends I owe,
From thee my various comforts flow;
And every blessing which I need,
Must from thy bounteous hand proceed.
Great things are not what I desire,
Nor dainty meat nor rich attire;
Content with little would I be,
That little, Lord, must come from thee.
While carnal men with all their store,
Are ever grasping after more,
With Agur’s wish I’m satisfied,
Nor envy them the world beside.
