Exalted on a glorious throne,
Amidst his hosts above,
Our heavenly Father reigns alone,
In justice and in love.
He knew us when we knew him not,
Was with us though unseen;
His blessings came to us unsought,
His love has wondrous been.
And now he doth his people keep,
Whatever foe assails,
With vigilance that cannot sleep,
With power that never fails.
And he has told us, we shall be
Ere long with him above,
The members of his family,
The children of his love.
Then let us, while we dwell below,
Obey his gracious voice;
To all his will with meekness bow,
And in his power rejoice.
