Part iii
Faint not Christian; Christ will keep
Those who he hath made his sheep;
Faint not, heaven and earth combine
Thee to serve; for God is thine.
Sorrows gathered like a flood
Work together for thy good;
Whatsoever may befall,
God can make thee conquer all.
Not a sparrow dies, but he
Hath ordained that it should be;
He, who sees the sparrow dead,
Counts the hairs upon thy head.
Cast thy burdens on the Lord,
He will always help afford;
And with equal love and power,
Blessings on thy head will shower.
Jesus is the Lord of all,
Jesus hears when thou dost call;
Earth obeys thy Lord’s commands,
Life and death are in his hands.
He who bore for thee the cross,
Will not send thee hurtful loss;
He, who saved thy soul from hell,
Orders all, and all is well.
Faint not, when the storm is past,
Sunny joys shall come at last:
Never cease to love and praise;
Thou shall yet see happy days.
