Great is the Lord, whose works of might
Transcend our highest thought;
Let his assembled saints unite
To adore him as they ought.
Great is the mercy of the Lord,
Who gives his children food;
And, ever mindful of his word,
Supplies them with all good.
Holy and glorious is his name,
His ways are just and pure;
And at his word our Saviour came,
Our welfare to secure.
Those who would grow divinely wise,
Must with his fear begin;
Our fairest proof of knowledge lies,
In hating every sin.
