Heaven is that holy, happy place,
Where saints God’s goodness prove;
See their Redeemer face to face,
And love with perfect love.
Heaven is the end of faith and prayer,
The scene of bliss immense;
No sinner is admitted there,
No saint is banished thence.
There free from every earthly load
Of sorrow, care, or pain;
They dwell within the house of God,
And with the Saviour reign.
Eye hath not seen, nor ear hath heard,
Nor can the heart conceive;
All that the blood of Christ procured,
Or all that God can give.
O Saviour, who in love hast died,
That we might be forgiven,
Make us by faith in thee abide,
And so prepare for heaven.
