Let us love, and serve, and praise
Our Redeemer all our days,
Who exalts with him to dwell,
Slaves of sin, and heirs of hell.
When the curse upon us lay,
When we yet were Satan’s prey,
None but he could seek and save;
His eternal praise shall have.
Through his sufferings we are blest,
Through his sorrows we have rest;
He our curse and sorrow bore,
Let us love him evermore.
He our Shepherd, Brother, Friend,
Guards and keeps us to the end;
Comforts in each trying hour,
And protects from Satan’s power.
Since our sins on him were laid,
He of God to us is made,
In our ruin, life, and peace,
Wisdom, strength, and righteousness.
‘Tis his Spirit dwells within,
To deliver us from sin;
Through his love to us are given
Grace on earth and bliss in heaven.
When we grieve, our grief he shares,
When we pray, he hears our prayers;
Pities us beneath our load,
Is our Advocate with God.
Precious gifts! beyond all price,
Purchased by his sacrifice;
Here our earthly sojourn bless,
And conduct to endless peace.
Thus he saves a countless host,
Of the guilty and the lost;
Ransomed by his offered blood,
Rendered holy, wise, and good.
What could make him suffer thus,
To deliver such as us?
Pardon hatred, pride, disdain,
Raise us with himself to reign.
Oh, how great the love he shows!
Great the bliss which he bestows!
May his glory still increase,
May his praises never cease.
We will love while life shall last;
We will praise when death is past;
And when raised no more to die,
Praise and love eternally.
