O God thou hast thy table spread,
And dost a feast for all prepare;
Thither be every sinner led,
And may all lands the blessing share.
Hail, sacred feast, which Jesus makes,
Rich banquet of his flesh and blood;
Thrice happy who by faith partakes
That heavenly, that life giving food.
And since ths bread and wine we see,
Are emblems of that sacred feast,
may each who takes these emblems be,
By faith the Saviour’s welcome guest.
Nor may thy spreading glory rest,
Till through the world thy truth has run;
And all with living bread are blest
Who breathe the air, or feel the sun.
