Rejoice, ye saints, in every state,
God’s promises remain unmoved;
No earthly changes can abate
His care for those he once has loved.
Firmer than heaven the covenant stands,
Tho’ earth should shake, and skies depart;
We’re safe in our Redeemer’s hands,
Who bears our names upon his heart.
Our Surety knows for us he stood,
And gave himself a sacrifice;
The souls once sprinkled with his blood,
Possess a life that never dies.
Should darkness spread around our tent,
Or fear prevail, or joy decline,
God will not of his oath repent,
Dear Lord, thy people still are thine.
Rejoice, ye saints, in every state,
God’s promises remain unmoved;
No earthly changes can abate
His care for those he once has loved.
