Thou God of our salvation hear,
Help sinners to believe;
May they in simple faith draw near,
Thy blessing to receive.
Jesus though they are full of guilt
Thou camest to redeem;
For them thy precious blood was spilt;
Thy hands were pierced for them.
Though they have nothing, Lord, to pay,
Nor can thy grace procure;
Yet empty send them not away,
Thou knowest they are poor.
They are oppressed with sin and shame,
But Jesus thou has bled;
Oh save them, save them spotless Lamb,
Thy blood for them was shed.
