We lay our sins on Jesus,
The spotless Lamb of God;
He bears them all and frees us
From the accursed load.
We bring our guilt to Jesus,
To wash our crimson stains
White in his blood most precious,
Till not a spot remains.
We lay our wants on Jesus,
All fulness dwells in him;
He heals our diseases,
He doth our souls redeem.
We lay our griefs on Jesus,
Our burdens and our cares;
He from them all releases,
He all our sorrows shares.
We long to be like Jesus,
Meek, loving, lowly, mild;
We long to be like Jesus,
The Father’s holy child.
And till we are with Jesus,
Amid the heavenly throng,
May all he orders please us,
And we to him belong.
