We must maintain our guard,
Ten thousand foes arise;
The world and hell are striving hard,
To keep us from the skies.
We must fight on and pray,
The battle ne’er give o’er;
But still renew it every day,
And help divine implore.
The victory is not won;
Let not our arms hang down;
Our arduous work will not be done,
Till we obtain our crown.
Let us strive on till death
Shall bring us to our God;
Then we shall wear the victor’s wreath,
Within his blessed abode.
