We who were once the slaves of sin,
And heirs of endless wrath,
Are pressing on our heaven to win,
Along the heavenward path.
Rescued by Christ, and saved by grace
Let us exalt his name;
And all our days, in every place
His matchless love proclaim.
Myriads unpardoned throng round,
May we their danger feel;
May pity in our hearts abound,
And may we grow in zeal.
