While this earth is our abode,
We will praise thee, gracious God;
When we end our earthly days
We will give thee better praise.
Great and good beyond compare
Thou dost make our wants thy care:
Thou hast chosen us to be
Sons and daughter unto thee.
Though we once thy love withstood,
Now we know thee great and good;
Sweet it is thy name to bless,
Sweet thy goodness to confess.
What can creatures give to thee,
Author of the land and sea?
Earth and boundless heaven fulfil
Thy resistless, sovereign, will.
Ye who know his grace and love,
Ye who all his kindness prove,
Conquerors over sin and death,
Bless him till your latest breath.
