With all the church on earth,
With all the church above,
We bless thee for our Saviour’s birth,
Thou who art light and love.
His work of mercy done,
Bursting the grace, he rose;
And now, ascended to thy throne,
Reigns over all his foes.
Did our Redeemer bleed,
To pay the ransom due?
And doth he live to intercede?
Then we shall triumph too.
A place beside his throne,
His life and death secure,
To those who, kept by grace alone,
Unto the end endure.
For all thy gifts of grace,
But, more than all, for him
Who died to win for us a place
Amidst the Seraphim.
For him through whom we die
Saved from the sting of death,
And rise to immortality,
Our grateful praise we breathe.
