Baptized into our Saviour’s death,
Our souls to sin must die;
With Christ our Lord we live anew,
With Christ ascend on high.
While heaven obeys his sovereign will
He make the earth his care;
And calls himself our Brother still ,
And our Forerunner there.
Let us from earthly trifles rise
On wings of faith and love;
Above our richest treasure lies,
And be our hearts above.
Though earth and sin, Lord, weigh us down
Teach us a loftier flight;
And make us rise to reach our crown
Along a path of light.
