Jesus, thou for us has died;
In thy love do we confide;
Thou hast saved from sin and hell,
Thou wilt ever love us well.
Gladly do we now confess
Thee our strength and righteousness;
Thee, the Saviour we adore,
Thee, our Lord for evermore.
‘Tis the blood which thou has spilt,
Which must wash us from our guilt;
‘Tis thy grace must make us clean
From the leprosy of sin.
Like thee Saviour may we die
Unto all iniquity;
Like thee, may we also rise,
Live to God, and seek the skies.
Plunge us is the cleansing flood,
Bathe us in the grace of God;
That new creatures we may be,
Wholly pure, and like to thee.
By thy own baptismal sign,
Lord, we are for ever thine;
By our solemn, prayerful, deed,
Soldiers to our King and Head.
To the triune God of heaven,
We are henceforth wholly given;
Be our souls with grace o’erflowed,
Bless us, O our Father, God.
