Hymn/Song Information

These happy souls who once were lost

These happy souls who once were lost,
Wandering in Satan’s way,
Now in the Saviour make their boast,
And his commands obey.

They shall be safe beneath his care
Into whose fold they come;
And they his heavenly bliss shall share,
Victorious o’er the tomb.

While these, baptized, to Jesus bow,
And all his rights confess,
O God, may many, careless now,
Into his kingdom press.

Let them not see thy grace bestowed
On these whom thou dost save,
And bear themselves guilt’s fatal load,
Unpardoned to the grave;

But save them from the sinner’s doom,
Save from the tempter’s power;
To Jesus may they quickly come,
Not waste another hour.
