Ye unto whom the Saviour saith
He casteth no more out,
Who humbly comes to him in faith
Why do ye fear and doubt?
Others delivered from distress
By trusting in the Lord,
Baptized their Saviour now confess
According to his word.
Before your eyes his yoke they take,
They tread the heavenward road;
And therefore pardoned, for his sake,
They soon will rise to God.
Why wait ye them a drooping band,
Cheerless and doubting still,
Afraid to honour his command
And to obey his will?
Would ye the world’s displeasure flee,
Or fear ye loss and shame,
Tat ye so long refuse to be
Baptized unto his name?
Oh, do not his command disdain
For he is ever near;
To-day he calls to you again,
Oh, do not sin through fear.
And if for him you are despised,
Heaven soon will end the strife;
He who believes, and is baptized,
Shall have eternal life.
