Thy mount, oh Lebanon,
How fruitful and how fair!
No other mountain can with thee,
No trees with thine compare.
Thy cedars straight and tall,
Their lovely branches spread;
They shed a fragrance all abroad,
And form a cooling shade.
Such is my Lord to me,
Come then, dear Saviour, come;
Beneath thy shade would I repose,
And smell thy rich perfume.
Here let me sit to day,
Nor ever hence remove,
Transported with thine excellence,
And feasted with thy love.
