Here, on this sacred board,
In various forms I see,
The mortal man, th’incarnate God,
Who lived and died for me.
This broken bread bespeaks,
The sufferings he endured,
The deep, the death-conveying wounds
By which my wounds are cured.
Come then, my soul, partake,
The banquet is divine:
His body is the choicest food,
His blood the richest wine.
Ye hungry starving poor,
Join in the sweet repast;
View Jesus in these symbols given,
And his salvation taste.
