Oh Lord, my Rock who went before
Your wand'ring tribes of old.
Help me to know and not ignore
The truths repeated told.
I eat and drink by Your good Grace
For body and for soul
That I in purity may face
The barriers to my Goal.
I ask not for such worldly gain
That men so often seek.
But I the mind of Christ obtain
And in His will be meek.
Give me to see beyond the page
What Christ has given me.
A work to do in this dark age
With Grace and Charity.
By a new Cloud that guides our way
And shows us where you lead,
Help me confess You day by day
In thought and word and deed.
So keep my vision fixed on you,
My shield and hiding place
Until at last, resplendent view,
I meet you face to face.
