I found no peace nor refuge
In Christ the Father's son
'Til all upon the altar
I laid, for He had won
My heart's complete devotion
When knowing what He'd done:
He only was the ransom
For me, His wayward son.
It was not by my seeking
That I in Him was found
But by His heavenly calling
I heard the gracious sound:
Come unto me my chosen
For I have use for you:
Restore to me the fallen
And every grace pursue.
I'll all my life surrender
As He Himself did give
To God, His loving Father
That men like we should live.
For on that cross He suffered
And paid the penalty
For all the sins of all men
That we may be set free.
And thus I'll sing His praises
Throughout eternity.
I'll lift the broken hearted
And those who've gone astray.
Through every field and byway
In town or countryside
We only, blessed Saviour,
Can seek for whom Christ died.
