Oh how I love your sacred Law
It speaks of love so full, so free.
It tells of One whom I adore
Who died for sinners just like me.
Oh for the Grace to love You more
And praise You through eternity.
It is my meditation sweet
On it I ponder all day long.
It tells me of sin's great defeat
By you to whom I sing this song.
From evil paths do guard my feet
So let my life to You belong.
So that I might keep Your word
And never from Your teaching turn;
But love the truths that I have heard,
Let Godly love within me burn.
Your precepts have I thus obeyed
For You are but my chief concern.
How sweet your words are to my taste
Sweeter than honey to my tongue.
In understanding I am chaste
And to You will I e'er belong.
In humble gratitude I wait
To hear that glad triumphal song.
'Til then I would Your love proclaim
To sinners who thus cannot see
That only in Your Son's dear Name
Can they find Grace so rich and free.
So, hear my prayer that they may claim
A place in Heaven's Eternity.
