Father, in high heaven dwelling,
Give to me a willing heart.
Take away the love of sinning,
Let me not from You depart.
Thank You for Your word that teaches
Man himself can never save.
For, of all your living creatures,
Unto man a soul You gave.
To my needy sinful soul
You, Blest Spirit, breathed the word:
Only Christ could make me whole,
Not by any works deserved.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
How You worked Your will in me,
I will never understand it
’Til I reach eternity.
Even so, Lord, help me serve You,
In the place that You have set.
May I, through the eyes of Christ, view
Those for whom You paid the debt.
For I have no other passion
But that souls shall of You know;
May we all, renewed in vision,
Know Your mercies here below.
Lord, I cry for all Your children
Here or in those lands afar.
Those who starve and those who serve them,
May they watch the Morning Star.
Feed them with Your daily blessing
As they feed upon Your Word.
May they all, in You rejoicing,
Know your Grace to them conferred.
