Arise, my Lord, arise
And smite the tempter down.
Though Satan may devise,
I fear not his renown.
For Christ is King and we can sing
Of victory now made secure.
This world has suffered long
And in this veil of tears
The selfish are made strong
And show no Godly fears.
But they shall see that only He
From Hell’s destruction can men free.
Give them repentance, Lord,
Release from sin’s domain,
That they may in Your word
Find balm to soothe their pain.
For Christ’s blest Love from Heav’n above
Does motivate our glad refrain.
So while we wait on You
In mercy hear our pleas
That You would greed subdue
And fearful wars may cease.
But more than this we need your kiss,
The Dove of Peace and Holiness.
