Let us go and possess the land,
Old faithful Caleb cried,
We're able to o'ercome;
The Lord is on our side,
We fear no giants great,
Nor grim old walls affright,
The order "go" inspires us so,
They'll fall before we fight.
I'm over in Canaan now,
The crossing was made by faith;
I'm trusting Jesus' blood,
His arms are underneath.
I'm living where clusters hang,
By Eschol's sunlit rills,
Where corn and wine with oil
And honey sweet distills,
No yoke of bondage dread,
For every chain is riven,
Christ gives his easy yoke instead,
And makes us heirs of heaven.
I'm over in Canaan now,
The crossing was made by faith;
I'm trusting Jesus' blood,
His arms are underneath.
How blessed as I explore
The land I have possessed,
And reach another peak
Of trusting, constant rest;
I'm walking through the Land
Where Jesus safely leads,
In pastures green he's always seen,
And hidden manna feeds.
I'm over in Canaan now,
The crossing was made by faith;
I'm trusting Jesus' blood,
His arms are underneath.
And still there's another land,
Where temptation cometh not,
Where foes and walled defence
Are evermore forgot;
But where the conqueror's song,
Floats out o'er all the plains,
And seraph's anthems ever blend
With alleluia strains.
I'm over in Canaan now,
The crossing was made by faith;
I'm trusting Jesus' blood,
His arms are underneath.
