May all once in thy kingdom rest,
May all forever there be blest;
There in that blissful place above,
May all be joined in bonds of love.
There sickness shall be known no more
All pains and anguish shall be o’er;
In everlasting feasts of joy,
Our souls shall find a blest employ.
Great God, be pleased to hear us now
While we to thee would humbly bow;
In mercy now the sick do view,
Who’re still disposed thy will to do.
May they now be abundant blest;
Restore them if thou seest best;
If not, may they endeavour still,
To be submissive to thy will.
May they be by thy Spirit led,
While we the oil pour on their head;
This duty from thy word we claim,
T’anoint the sick in thy blest name.
