O God, the same from age to age,
By whom thy Saints are fed,
Who through their earthly pilgrimage,
Hast all thy people led,
In each perplexing path we tread,
Our doubtful footsteps guide;
Give us each day our daily bread,
And raiment fit provide.
Grant us thy love along our road,
Till all our toils shall cease,
And at our Father’s house above,
Our souls arrive in peace.
Such blessings soft as summer showers,
On the parched earth we crave;
For thou through Christ the Lord art ours,
Our God to bless and save.
