The table now before us set
Reminds us of th'eternal debt
We owe to Him whose agony
Paid off the awful penalty.
How could the Son say 'I will go
And to this world My Love I'll show.'
When Satan's slaves would overthrow
Salvation's plan as we now know.
For none but Christ Himself could pay
The debt for all on that dread day.
And now set free from guilty chains
We'll thank Him ever for His pains.
And thus in solemn gratitude
We sing this blest beatitude
For we can sing of Love Divine
And claim the Blessed Saviour's mine.
